This role focuses on remote cardiology peer review of disability claims, with physicians evaluating medical records and issuing advisory-only opinions rather than providing direct patient care. The work is contract-based and scheduled flexibly, making it a fit for clinicians who want to control case volume and availability. Support is provided for case preparation, record management, and administrative coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct disability peer reviews and evaluate claims based on the available medical documentation.
- Provide advisory-only clinical opinions without establishing a doctor-patient relationship or delivering treatment.
- Review cases within required turnaround times and complete determinations/reports in a timely manner.
- Use an online work portal to access organized medical records and case materials.
- Coordinate with administrative support teams that handle communication, record sorting, and case preparation.
- Participate in initial training and ongoing support for completing reviews.
Required
- Board certification in Cardiology.
- Current, unrestricted medical license.
