Board certified physicians review disability claims and medical records from home, providing advisory opinions rather than direct patient care. The work is flexible and case-based, with the reviewer choosing services, case types, and volume based on availability. Initial training and ongoing support are provided to help clinicians complete reviews efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Review disability claims and supporting medical records to provide independent medical opinions.
- Evaluate case materials and complete determinations or reports within the required turnaround time.
- Use a streamlined case portal to access organized records and manage review workflows.
- Participate in orientation and training before beginning case reviews.
- Coordinate with administrative support teams that handle communication, record sorting, and case preparation.
- Maintain credentialing, state licenses, and any required certifications needed to perform reviews.
Required
- Board certification.
- Current, unrestricted medical license.
- At least 5 years of clinical practice experience and active clinical practice.
- Ability to complete required orientation and training.
- Ability to maintain credentialing, state licenses, and any other required certifications.
Preferred
- Experience with disability review, utilization review, or related medical record review work.
