This clinician reviews and audits complex workers’ compensation cases, serves as a medical director resource for client discussions, and helps resolve disputes in more challenging matters. The work is part-time and largely administrative/consultative, with a focus on Washington rules and broader state workers’ compensation treatment guidelines. The role requires working from home, communication with client medical directors, and occasional exam-related duties under Washington requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews and audits of workers’ compensation cases.
- Participate in discussions with client Medical Directors regarding case issues and disputes.
- Provide input on more complex cases and disputed areas of care.
- Use knowledge of state workers’ compensation laws and treatment guidelines to support determinations.
- Perform exams in accordance with Washington rules.
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet deadlines using computer-based workflows.
- Coordinate work independently in a remote, part-time setting.
Required
- Medical degree from a recognized university.
- Board certification in a specialty.
- Active Washington medical license.
- Approval by Labor & Industries.
- Ability to perform exams under Washington rules.
- Multiple state medical licenses.
Preferred
- Prior Medical Director experience.
- Business experience in a healthcare and/or insurance setting.
- Knowledge of workers’ compensation laws across the United States.
- Familiarity with state workers’ compensation treatment guidelines.
