Description

Lead psychiatric care for adults in an immediate-access behavioral health crisis setting, combining direct patient care with regional medical oversight across multiple facilities. The role centers on crisis assessment, stabilization, and discharge planning, with additional responsibility for clinical guidance, supervision, and coordination with outside psychiatric and inpatient providers. This is a physician-led, data-driven model that includes administrative leadership, committee participation, and on-call coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct psychiatric care across assigned facilities through treatment guidelines, safety protocols, and clinical review.
  • Provide initial psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, risk assessments, capacity evaluations, and discharge planning.
  • Serve as attending psychiatrist for specified individuals and support treatment planning across medical, psychological, social, behavioral, and developmental needs.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff, midlevel providers, outside psychiatric providers, and inpatient services to align treatment modalities.
  • Lead administrative and supervisory functions, including hiring, onboarding, conflict resolution, and corrective actions for clinical staff.
  • Participate in regional leadership, Medical Executive Committee, and other committees requiring clinical expertise.
  • Serve as administrator on call and clinical point of contact by in-person or telecommunication as needed.
  • Complete credentialing and regulatory requirements and represent clinical care to regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
Required
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Completion of an approved psychiatry residency with adult mental health treatment training.
  • At least 3 years of post-residency psychiatric care experience.
  • Active Pennsylvania state medical license.
  • Board certification in psychiatry.
  • Unrestricted DEA license and X license.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and complete credentialing requirements.
Preferred
  • Training and certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Prior administrative leadership experience.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and county regulations.
  • Experience in addiction medicine or as an addiction-credentialed physician.
