This clinician will provide telehealth-based endocrine and metabolic care, with a strong focus on weight management and diabetes treatment. The role centers on medication management, including GLP-1 therapy, insulin, and related treatments, within a structured virtual visit workflow. It is a founding clinical leadership position that also helps define protocols, workflows, and care pathways for the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct synchronous and asynchronous telehealth visits for endocrine and metabolic health patients.
- Provide care for weight management, diabetes, obesity, and related metabolic conditions.
- Develop and refine protocols for medication titration, glycemic management, side-effect triage, dose escalation, and treatment transitions.
- Design clinical workflows for intake, visit structure, documentation, prescribing, and follow-up in collaboration with technology and operations teams.
- Serve as the clinical authority for the program and provide oversight and collaboration for advanced practice clinicians.
- Consult on complex endocrine cases and help refine the care model over time.
- Author and review clinical content for structured reports sent to referring physicians.
- Document clinical decision logic, escalation criteria, and care pathways to support standardization.
- Participate in weekly operational reviews and identify clinical workflow and patient experience issues.
Required
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in New York State.
- Board certification in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, or substantial internal medicine experience in endocrine/metabolic practice.
- Current DEA registration.
- Current payer credentialing in New York, or an active CAQH profile for rapid enrollment.
- Hands-on experience treating diabetes, obesity, and metabolic conditions, including prescribing and titrating GLP-1 therapies and insulin.
- Strong collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred
- Multistate licensure or ability to obtain additional state licenses.
- Experience delivering care in a telehealth or virtual setting.
- Board certification or added qualification in Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
- Experience providing collaborative or supervisory oversight to NPs/PAs.
- Experience with Athena EHR.
- Familiarity with remote patient monitoring workflows.
- Experience working with dietitians, diabetes educators, or nutrition counselors.
- Leadership, training, or team development experience.
