Provide fully virtual outpatient care for patients with opioid use disorder, with a primary focus on initiating and managing buprenorphine treatment in a harm-reduction model. Work within a structured, multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians and peer recovery professionals, using shared decision-making and patient-centered support. This role also involves autonomous prescribing, ongoing follow-up, and care delivered in a low-barrier digital clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine treatment, including starting care and continuing treatment over time.
- Provide nonjudgmental, harm-reduction-based support tailored to patient goals and recovery priorities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including peer recovery professionals and other clinicians.
- Use shared decision-making to support patient autonomy and long-term stability.
- Document care and work autonomously within a structured telehealth workflow.
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant remote practice standards and use company-provided equipment.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed states of residence.
- Ability to practice independently without physician supervision where required by state law.
- At least 6 months of experience in an independent outpatient setting prescribing buprenorphine-based medications.
- Experience initiating buprenorphine treatment, not only continuing existing prescriptions.
- Ability to work full-time, 30-40 hours per week.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience working in addiction medicine or opioid use disorder treatment.
- Prior experience in telehealth or fully remote outpatient care.
- PMHNP or CARN-AP certification.
- Experience working in a patient-centered, autonomous practice environment.
