Provide fully remote outpatient care for patients with opioid use disorder, with a primary focus on initiating and managing buprenorphine treatment in a harm-reduction model. Work in a structured, multidisciplinary setting that emphasizes shared decision-making, patient autonomy, and nonjudgmental support. The role is full-time and suits experienced nurse practitioners comfortable practicing independently in telehealth addiction medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication treatment for opioid use disorder.
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine-based treatment plans, including ongoing prescribing.
- Provide patient-centered, harm-reduction counseling and shared decision-making support.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians and peer recovery professionals.
- Coordinate care within a structured, low-barrier virtual practice model.
- Document care and work from a HIPAA-compliant home workspace.
- Use independent clinical judgment while following team-supported workflows and, when needed, collaborating physician arrangements.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed states of residence.
- Ability to practice independently where required by state law.
- At least 6 months of experience in an independent outpatient setting prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiating treatment.
- Interest in full-time work, approximately 30-40 hours per week.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience with telehealth or fully virtual outpatient care.
- Background in addiction medicine or medication treatment for opioid use disorder.
- PMHNP or CARN-AP certification.
