Provide fully virtual outpatient care for patients with opioid use disorder, with a primary focus on initiating and managing buprenorphine treatment in a harm-reduction model. Work with patients using a low-barrier, patient-centered approach that supports autonomy, shared decision-making, and long-term stabilization. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians and peer recovery professionals, and practice autonomously within a structured remote care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine-based treatment, including starting therapy and ongoing medication management.
- Provide harm-reduction, nonjudgmental support aligned with patient goals and shared decision-making.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including peer recovery professionals.
- Document care and work within a HIPAA-compliant remote workflow.
- Use independent clinical judgment to manage patients autonomously within the care model.
- Coordinate care in states where physician collaboration is required, as applicable.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the eligible states listed in the posting.
- Ability to practice independently where required by state law, for candidates in FL, IL, MA, MN, or VA.
- At least 6 months of experience in an independent outpatient setting prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiation of treatment.
- Experience working in a patient-centered, autonomous clinical role.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience in addiction medicine or medication treatment for opioid use disorder.
- Experience working in a fully remote or telehealth outpatient setting.
- PMHNP or CARN-AP certification.
- Comfort working in a harm-reduction, low-barrier care model.
