Provide remote, outpatient medication treatment for opioid use disorder, with a focus on initiating and managing buprenorphine-based care for adults. Work within a harm-reduction, low-barrier model that emphasizes shared decision-making, patient autonomy, and ongoing support. This role is part of a multidisciplinary virtual addiction medicine team and requires independent practice experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder.
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine treatment, including starting new prescriptions.
- Provide nonjudgmental, patient-centered support using a harm-reduction approach.
- Coordinate care with peer recovery professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Document care and work autonomously within a structured telehealth workflow.
- Support patients over time as they identify and work toward their recovery goals.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed states.
- Ability to practice independently without physician supervision if residing in FL, IL, MA, MN, or VA.
- At least 6 months of experience in an independent outpatient setting prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiating treatment.
- Experience working autonomously in a patient-centered practice.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience in addiction medicine or other substance use disorder care.
- Advanced practice certification such as PMHNP or CARN-AP.
