In this role, the clinician provides fully remote outpatient care for patients with opioid use disorder, including initiating and managing buprenorphine treatment. The work is grounded in harm reduction and shared decision-making, with a low-barrier, nonjudgmental approach to addiction medicine. Care is delivered within a multidisciplinary, team-supported virtual clinic, with collaboration available for clinicians in states that require physician oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder.
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine-based treatment, including starting new patients.
- Provide addiction medicine care using harm reduction, patient-centered, and non-coercive approaches.
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, including peer recovery professionals.
- Work independently within a structured telehealth practice model.
- Use shared decision-making to support patient goals and recovery planning.
- Maintain documentation and care workflows in a HIPAA-compliant remote setting.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed states.
- Ability to practice independently where required by state law, if residing in FL, IL, MA, MN, or VA.
- At least 6 months of experience in an independent outpatient setting.
- Regular experience prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiating treatment.
- Willingness to work full-time, 30-40 hours per week.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience in addiction medicine or telehealth-based outpatient care.
- Background working in harm reduction or low-barrier care models.
- Advanced certification such as PMHNP or CARN-AP.
