Provide fully remote outpatient care for patients with opioid use disorder, independently initiating and managing buprenorphine-based MOUD in a harm-reduction-focused setting. The role emphasizes patient-centered, low-barrier addiction treatment using shared decision-making and nonjudgmental support. Clinicians work within a multidisciplinary team that includes peer recovery professionals and may collaborate with a physician relationship where required by state law.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder.
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine treatment in an independent outpatient practice model.
- Provide harm reduction, patient-centered care that supports recovery goals over time.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including peer recovery professionals.
- Use shared decision-making to support treatment planning and ongoing care.
- Coordinate care within state-specific practice requirements, including physician collaboration when applicable.
- Document and manage outpatient prescribing workflows in a HIPAA-compliant remote setup.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed eligible states.
- Ability to practice independently without physician supervision in states where required by law.
- At least 6 months of independent outpatient experience prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiation of treatment.
- Interest in full-time work of 30-40 hours per week.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience working in addiction medicine or telehealth.
- Experience in a patient-centered, autonomous practice setting.
- PMHNP certification.
- CARN-AP certification.
