Provide fully remote, outpatient addiction medicine care for adults with opioid use disorder, with a primary focus on initiating and managing buprenorphine treatment. Work within a harm-reduction, low-barrier model that emphasizes patient autonomy, shared decision-making, and long-term support. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes clinicians and peer recovery professionals in a structured virtual care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual outpatient visits for patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD).
- Initiate and manage buprenorphine-based treatment, including starting new therapy and adjusting ongoing care.
- Provide patient-centered, nonjudgmental support grounded in harm reduction principles.
- Use shared decision-making to help patients identify and work toward recovery goals.
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, including peer recovery professionals.
- Document care and manage treatment autonomously within the practice model.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA-compliant remote work practices.
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in one of the listed states of residence.
- Ability to practice independently without physician supervision in states where that is required.
- At least 6 months of independent outpatient experience prescribing buprenorphine-based medications, including initiating treatment.
- Ability to work full-time, 30-40 hours per week.
- Private workspace with a HIPAA-compliant setup.
Preferred
- Experience in addiction medicine or telehealth outpatient care.
- Prior work in a harm-reduction or low-barrier care model.
- Advanced certification such as PMHNP or CARN-AP.
