Provide weekend-only virtual psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults, including comprehensive evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management. The role also includes family education, diagnostic oversight, and close collaboration with therapists and interdisciplinary colleagues in a whole-child care model. You’ll work fully remote with a pediatric mental health team and have access to consultation and professional development built into the schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for pediatric and young adult patients.
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric treatment planning.
- Coordinate care with psychotherapists and interdisciplinary team members.
- Educate parents and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment, and care navigation.
- Oversee diagnostic testing and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.
- Use telehealth platforms, EMR systems, and Google Suite to support care delivery.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience under licensure.
- Active licensure in PA, VA, NJ, or MD, or willingness to obtain licensure in these states with sponsorship.
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority.
- Availability to work Saturday and Sunday weekend shifts.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents as a PMHNP.
- Experience practicing independently at the top of scope.
- Comfort with virtual care and telehealth workflows.
- Strong family communication and patient education skills.
- Experience in collaborative, team-based behavioral health settings.
