Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults in a pediatric behavioral health setting. Care combines virtual visits with one in-person day each week, with time spent educating patients and families, monitoring progress, and supporting safety. The role is part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary model with strong administrative support and clinical supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Provide personalized treatment plans and medication management based on patient needs and progress.
- Spend time with patients and families to build rapport, explain diagnoses and treatment options, and support engagement in care.
- Monitor patient progress against care goals and adjust treatment plans when needed.
- Take appropriate steps to maintain patient safety and intervene when concerns arise.
- Collaborate with therapists, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated care.
- Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation and review digital and lab results.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
- Active Pennsylvania PMHNP/CRNP/APN license.
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority.
- Ability to work at least 12 hours per week during after-school hours, including evenings after 4 pm ET or weekends.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
- Experience in team-based or interdisciplinary behavioral health care.
- Comfort with hybrid care delivery and in-person clinical collaboration.
