Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults with behavioral health needs. Work as part of an interdisciplinary pediatric mental health team in a hybrid model that includes both virtual and in-person care. The role also includes family education, ongoing monitoring of progress and safety, and collaboration with therapists and other clinicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for pediatric and young adult patients.
- Provide individualized treatment plans and medication management based on patient needs and progress.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families through education, support, and ongoing follow-up.
- Collaborate with therapists, specialists, and interdisciplinary colleagues to deliver integrated care.
- Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans to support outcomes and safety.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation and review diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Support family education and consultation around diagnoses, treatment options, and care needs.
Required
- Master's degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- Active Virginia PMHNP/APRN license.
- Autonomous Practice Status.
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience under licensure.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents in psychiatric practice.
- Experience providing both in-person and virtual sessions.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, EMR systems, and virtual platforms.
