Provide virtual psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health needs. Build ongoing therapeutic relationships with patients and families, monitor progress and safety, and adjust care plans as needed. Work within an interdisciplinary pediatric behavioral health team using a whole-child model that also incorporates testing, therapy, and family education.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for pediatric and young adult patients.
- Provide individualized treatment plans and medication management based on patient needs and progress.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families through education, support, and ongoing communication.
- Monitor patient progress against care goals and intervene proactively to support safety.
- Collaborate with therapists, specialists, and other clinicians to coordinate integrated care.
- Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation of patient visits and progress.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience under licensure.
- Active Pennsylvania PMHNP/CRNP/APN license.
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority.
- Ability to work at least 12 hours per week during after-school hours, evenings, or weekends.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
- Experience working independently at the top of scope.
- Background in collaborative, team-based behavioral health care.
