Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults in a pediatric mental health setting. This role also includes family education, ongoing support, and monitoring progress and safety over the course of treatment. The practice uses a whole-child, interdisciplinary model with virtual and in-person care, and the position is contract/1099 with a minimum weekly commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for pediatric and young adult patients.
- Provide individualized treatment plans and medication management.
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families and offer education about diagnoses and treatment options.
- Monitor progress against care goals and adjust treatment plans as needed to support safety and outcomes.
- Collaborate with therapists, specialists, and other healthcare professionals on integrated care plans.
- Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Coordinate refills, prior authorizations, records, and rescheduling with administrative support.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation and patient records.
Required
- Active PMHNP license in Maryland.
- Board certification by ANCC or AANP as a PMHNP-BC.
- At least 2 years of independent practice experience as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults.
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority license.
- Autonomous practice status.
- Ability to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
- Access to a computer, phone, and high-speed internet.
