Provide psychiatric intake evaluations and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and young adults, with a focus on identifying needs early and connecting families to the right ongoing care. This role centers on telehealth intake work within a pediatric behavioral health model that uses a whole-child approach. You also collaborate with therapists and interdisciplinary colleagues, educate caregivers, and support thorough diagnostic and documentation workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations and assessments for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients.
- Develop initial treatment plans and recommend appropriate next-step care pathways.
- Collaborate with therapists and specialists to support coordinated, team-based care.
- Educate parents and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps.
- Oversee diagnostic testing and maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant intake documentation.
- Use virtual platforms, EMR systems, and Google Suite to support telehealth workflows.
- Ensure smooth handoffs to ongoing providers for continued psychiatric care.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Active PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
- Active license in Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, or Maryland.
- DEA license and State Prescriptive Authority.
- Availability to work during after-school hours and/or weekends.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
- Experience practicing independently at the top of scope.
- Prior telehealth or virtual care experience.
- Strong comfort working in interdisciplinary, collaborative care settings.
