Provide psychiatric intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, with a focus on understanding presenting concerns, educating families, and creating individualized treatment plans. This role supports a warm transition into ongoing care and works with an interdisciplinary team to match patients to the right follow-up provider and treatment approach. Care is delivered remotely, with use of electronic records, Google Suite, and other virtual tools in a pediatric mental health setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic assessment and patient/family needs.
- Coordinate with therapists, specialists, and other clinicians to support appropriate ongoing care placement.
- Provide education and consultation to patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and care pathways.
- Oversee review of diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant intake documentation in the EHR.
- Use virtual platforms and digital workflow tools to support remote care delivery.
Required
- Active PMHNP license in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.
- Board certification by ANCC or AANP (PMHNP-BC).
- DEA license and state prescriptive authority license.
- Autonomous practice status.
- At least 2 years of independent experience as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults.
Preferred
- Experience delivering virtual care.
- Experience with Google Suite and EHR systems.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary pediatric behavioral health setting.
