This role focuses on psychiatric intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults, with an emphasis on understanding needs, educating families, and creating an initial treatment plan. Care is delivered fully remote, and the work centers on pediatric mental health within a whole-child, interdisciplinary model. The clinician also helps match patients to the right ongoing provider and supports safe, coordinated transitions into care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults.
- Develop individualized treatment plans to guide ongoing care.
- Provide education and consultation to patients and families about diagnoses and treatment options.
- Collaborate with therapists and other clinicians to coordinate care and make appropriate provider matches.
- Participate in weekly team and supervisory clinical meetings.
- Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant intake documentation.
- Take proactive steps to support patient safety when concerns arise.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
- Active PMHNP, DEA, and state prescriptive authority in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and/or New Jersey.
- Ability to work at least 12 hours per week during after-school hours or weekends.
Preferred
- Experience working with children and adolescents in psychiatric care.
- Experience in collaborative, team-based behavioral health settings.
- Comfort working in a fully remote clinical role.
