Provide psychiatric evaluations, treatment planning, and medication management for children, adolescents, and young adults in a hybrid pediatric mental health setting. Work closely with patients and caregivers to explain care options, support engagement, and adjust treatment over time. The role also includes collaboration with therapists and other clinicians as part of an integrated, whole-child care model.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, and diagnoses for youth ages 2-26.
- Provide medication management and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care.
- Monitor patient progress and update care plans to support safety and outcomes.
- Collaborate with psychotherapists, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Participate in team and supervisory clinical meetings for coordinated care.
- Oversee diagnostic testing, including digital and lab results.
- Maintain thorough, HIPAA-compliant documentation of patient visits and progress.
Required
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program.
- PMHNP-BC certification.
- At least 1 year of independent psychiatric experience under licensure.
- At least 1 year of experience working with child and adolescent populations.
- Active Virginia PMHNP, CRNP, or APN license.
- Active DEA license and Virginia prescriptive authority.
- Ability to work a hybrid model with onsite and virtual telehealth care.
- Availability for peak clinical hours after 4:00 PM ET on weekdays and/or weekends.

- Experience working in team-based, integrated behavioral health settings.
- Comfort providing care in a whole-child model that includes family education and support.
