Provide telemedicine-based assessment and initial treatment for patients with opioid use disorder, including diagnosis of co-occurring mental health conditions and early buprenorphine-naloxone induction and stabilization. This part-time role is focused on rapid intake and enrollment decisions, with occasional support for patients on maintenance treatment if urgent needs arise. The work is remote, uses web-based care tools, and involves collaboration with physicians and a broader care team to support low-barrier addiction treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake assessments for patients seeking opioid use disorder treatment.
- Provide diagnosis and early treatment for opioid use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Start and manage buprenorphine-naloxone induction and stabilization with close follow-up.
- Order and interpret labs, including drug screens, and adjust care plans based on results.
- Use motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to support adherence and outcomes.
- Coordinate patient transfer to another provider for continuity of care after intake.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members through web-based platforms and practice agreements.
- Participate in quality improvement, feedback, and testing of new technologies or workflows.
Required
- Current Nurse Practitioner role; only Nurse Practitioners are considered.
- Active licensure in at least one of the following states: CA, TX, MI, FL, AZ, or CO.
- DEA license in the clinician’s home state.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
- At least 1 year of experience with high-volume buprenorphine inductions, or 3 years in in-person addiction medicine focused on OUD, or 5 years in primary care, ED, or psychiatric settings caring for high-acuity patients with OUD.
- Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.

- Comfort caring for patients with opioid use disorder in a remote workflow.
