Provide fully remote telehealth evaluations and follow-up care for adults seeking GLP-1–based weight management, with attention to obesity, metabolic health, diabetes, and related cardiometabolic conditions. The work centers on prescribing, titrating, and monitoring FDA-approved GLP-1 medications while coordinating with registered dietitians and handling prior authorization-related clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct synchronous telehealth evaluations for new patients seeking GLP-1 treatment, assessing eligibility, comorbidities, contraindications, and treatment goals.
- Prescribe and titrate FDA-approved GLP-1 medications for weight management under independent prescriptive authority.
- Manage follow-up visits, side effect counseling, and lab review through synchronous and asynchronous chart review workflows.
- Review dietitian care summaries and incorporate lifestyle modification history into clinical documentation.
- Sign letters of medical necessity and support prior authorization submissions and renewals.
- Respond to prior authorization appeals requiring clinical input and participate in protocol updates and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain licensure, prescriptive authority, malpractice coverage, and payer credentialing across contracted states.
- Participate in chart audits and Medical Director-led quality reviews.
Required
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current ANCC or AANP board certification.
- Certification or population focus appropriate for adult weight management, such as FNP or AGNP/AGPCNP.
- Active licenses in at least 30 U.S. states, including states with full independent practice and prescriptive authority.
- At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience managing obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, or related cardiometabolic conditions.
- Active NPI and professional liability/malpractice insurance covering telehealth encounters.
- Authorization to work and physical presence in the U.S.
Preferred
- Training or certification in obesity medicine, such as SCOPE, OMA coursework, or ABOM-eligible training.
- Prior telehealth prescribing experience in weight management or metabolic health.
- 50-state licensure.
