Provide 100% virtual psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients in acute mental health crisis across emergency departments, hospital medical floors, and crisis stabilization settings. This role focuses on measurement-based, culturally responsive episodic care and timely disposition planning for patients needing the least restrictive appropriate level of care. The work is collaborative, with support from a 24/7 access center and onsite treatment teams, and includes prescribing as well as psychotherapeutic interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients in acute psychiatric crisis across emergency rooms, hospital medical floors, and crisis programs
- Determine the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care and support timely disposition decisions
- Provide psychotherapeutic treatment and prescribe medication for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
- Collaborate with onsite professionals and partner healthcare treatment teams
- Work with a 24/7 access center that triages cases and supports care delivery during the shift
- Use multiple EMRs and telehealth technology to document and manage care across settings
Required
- Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist
- Unrestricted, independent medical licensure
- Experience providing psychiatric care to all age groups
- Experience treating patients in acute crisis and providing stabilization in 24/7 settings
- Established and updated CAQH and FCVS profiles
- Ability to work remotely with a private office space for confidentiality
Preferred
- Experience with multiple EMRs and telehealth workflows
- Advanced technical proficiency with laptops, cameras, monitors, Windows systems, and Microsoft software
- Experience providing culturally competent care to patients from diverse backgrounds
- Interest in collaborative, solutions-oriented behavioral health care
- Willingness to obtain additional state and DEA licensure with employer support
