This clinician provides 100% virtual psychiatric care for patients in acute crisis, with a focus on child and adolescent psychiatry while also serving adults and geriatric patients across emergency rooms, hospital medical floors, and crisis stabilization settings. The role centers on evaluating urgent behavioral health needs, delivering stabilizing treatment, and helping determine the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care. The practice is collaborative and tech-enabled, with support from an access center and onsite care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients in acute psychiatric crisis across emergency departments, hospital medical floors, and crisis programs.
- Determine the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care and support timely disposition planning.
- Direct and/or implement psychotherapeutic interventions and prescribe medications for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
- Coordinate care with onsite professionals and partner healthcare treatment teams.
- Work across multiple concurrent sites and cases during a shift with support from a 24/7 access center.
- Use measurement-based, culturally humble, evidence-based approaches to care.
Required
- Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist.
- Unrestricted, independent medical licensure.
- Experience providing psychiatric care across all age groups.
- Experience treating patients in acute crisis or 24/7 stabilization settings.
- Ability to maintain an established CAQH and FCVS profile.
Preferred
- Experience working in telehealth or virtual psychiatry.
- Experience using multiple EMRs simultaneously.
- Strong technical proficiency with laptop, camera, monitors, Windows systems, Microsoft software, and EMR platforms.
- Experience providing culturally competent care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
