Provide 100% virtual psychiatric care for patients in acute crisis across emergency departments, hospital medical floors, and crisis stabilization settings. The role focuses on episodic evaluation, stabilization, and disposition planning for children and adolescents, while also supporting care for adults and geriatric patients. Care is delivered in collaboration with onsite teams and supported by a 24/7 access center, using evidence-based and measurement-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients in acute psychiatric crisis across multiple emergency rooms, hospital medical floors, and psychiatric crisis programs.
- Determine the most appropriate and least restrictive level of care and support timely disposition planning.
- Direct and/or implement psychotherapeutic interventions and prescribe medications for mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
- Collaborate with onsite professionals and the partner healthcare treatment team in a coordinated care model.
- Work with a 24/7 access center that triages cases and supports shift coverage needs.
- Provide culturally humble and culturally competent care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Use multiple EMRs and telehealth tools to document and manage care remotely.
Required
- Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist.
- Unrestricted, independent medical licensure.
- Experience providing psychiatric care to all age groups.
- Experience treating patients in acute crisis or 24/7 stabilization settings.
- Established CAQH and FCVS profiles.
Preferred
- Experience working in telehealth or virtual psychiatry.
- Experience using multiple EMRs simultaneously.
- Advanced technical proficiency with Windows systems, Microsoft software, and telehealth hardware.
- Interest in collaborative, solutions-oriented behavioral health care.
