This part-time child and adolescent PMHNP role provides 100% telepsychiatry care for patients ages 5 and older, primarily through video-based behavioral health assessments, de-escalation, and stabilization support. Care is delivered remotely for patients seen through a Community Mental Health Center, with written recommendations for next-level assessment or treatment based on the evaluation. The role also involves multidisciplinary collaboration, documentation in the partner site’s EMR, and helping maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct video-based behavioral health assessments for children and adolescents ages 5+.
- Provide de-escalation and stabilization support during behavioral health encounters.
- Gather collateral information by phone or video from other available sources.
- Analyze psychosocial factors affecting thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
- Provide written recommendations for next-level assessment or care.
- Maintain documentation in the partner site’s EMR.
- Provide observational feedback within a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for patients.
Required
- PMHNP certification.
- Active Illinois license.
- 1-3 years of experience since obtaining licensure.
- Intermediate to advanced technology skills.
- Strong communication skills.
