This role provides strategic clinical leadership across federal health programs, translating clinical, technical, and policy expertise into technology-enabled solutions for government healthcare delivery. It focuses on improving outcomes through work in health IT, data and analytics, virtual care, population health, and value-based care. The position also includes executive advisory work, thought leadership, and collaboration with clinical, technical, operational, and policy stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical advisor to federal health agency leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Guide client teams on communications, coordination, and interagency healthcare initiatives.
- Lead subject matter support for proposals, campaigns, win strategies, and solution design.
- Evaluate clinical technologies and translate healthcare needs into technical requirements.
- Support project delivery across health programs with a focus on outcomes and implementation quality.
- Develop thought leadership on healthcare transformation, AI, virtual care, and data use.
- Advise on health policy, regulatory issues, privacy, interoperability, and change management.
- Mentor clinical talent and support multidisciplinary team development.
Required
- MD, DO, or RN degree with an active, current license.
- At least 6 years of clinical practice experience.
- Current board certification in specialty, if applying as a physician.
- Direct operational experience with a federal health agency.
- Experience using technology to support healthcare delivery or solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
Preferred
- Experience with Military Health System and/or Veterans Affairs environments.
- Experience with major federal EHR platforms or EHR modernization programs.
- Formal training or certification in clinical informatics.
- Experience with operational, remote, or austere care settings.
- Background in value-based care, quality measures, or alternative payment models.
- Experience with change management, healthcare cybersecurity, cloud health IT, or Agile/DevSecOps.
