Provide psychotherapy and supportive mental health care for older adults living in nursing homes, with a focus on assessment, follow-up, and coordination around psychiatric treatment. The work includes collaboration with facility staff, residents, families, and a psychiatric provider, with an emphasis on non-pharmacological interventions when possible. This is a part-time, contract consulting role with flexible scheduling and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychotherapy sessions for nursing home residents.
- Round at assigned nursing homes and provide ongoing behavioral health care.
- Coordinate with nursing home staff, residents, and families to support care plans.
- Follow up with patients and assess the effectiveness of recommended interventions.
- Provide education on best practices to staff and care teams.
- Collaborate with the psychiatric provider to integrate pharmacological and behavioral interventions.
- Emphasize non-pharmacological treatment approaches when appropriate.
Required
- Master’s or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychologist (PhD or PsyD).
- Experience working in a nursing home setting.
Preferred
- Experience working with older adults or geriatric patients.
