This Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care for children and adolescents with intellectual/developmental disabilities and emotional or behavioral challenges. The role is primarily remote/virtual, with collaboration alongside a physician and participation in peer review and clinical meetings. It is an independent contractor position with a flexible part-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Provide medication management and ongoing psychiatric intervention.
- Monitor patient progress and complete reevaluations as needed.
- Collaborate with a physician to support diagnostic and treatment planning.
- Participate in physician peer review and relevant clinical meetings.
- Work with multidisciplinary professionals serving individuals with significant intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Required
- Master’s degree.
- Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification in Florida.
- Active Medicaid provider number.
- Authorization to provide psychiatric services under Chapter 464, F.S.
- At least 2 years of psychiatric experience.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents.
